The University of Maiduguri Association of Radiography Students (UMARADS) welcomes the President of the National Association of Radiography Students (NARS) in a three-day event.

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) chapter president, Comrade Daniel Caleb Boli, hosted the NARS President, Comrade Aliyu Muhammad Bello.

The day one of the events noticed a visit to the Head of Department (HOD) Radiography of UNIMAID, Dr. Chigozie Nwobi, by Comrade Aliyu and other delegates. Students in the 200 and 400 levels of the department had a special session with the guest. From here, members of the staff of the department were also visited.

This is in a bid to create rapport and to see the progress of the association. The sub-dean of allied clinical science and the Dean of Student Affairs of the university were seen.

The first-day event will be crowned with a meeting with the Student Union Government.

The second day, which was Tuesday, a meeting with the chief radiographer at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Dean of the faculty of Allied Health Sciences, the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, HOD of Radiology of the UMTH and Radiographers of the hospital.

The event culminated with a session with the 300 and 500 level students of the department.

The last day of the event started with a visit to the HOD Radiology Unit of the state specialists hospital, then to the Chief Radiographer, HOD FNPH and finally to the ARN Chairman.

The event was marked with visits to those concerned to see the growth and progress of the association in the university. Also, to enlighten the students of the department on what their course entails and the opportunities available to them and the role of a radiographer in a clinical setting or a hospital.
